Advanced workshop on “Applications of ANSYS in Structural Engineering Problems” - December 19, 2016
An advanced workshop on “Applications of ANSYS in Structural Engineering Problems” organized jointly by Department of Civil Engineering and Indian Concrete Institute Student Chapter, Sree Buddha College of Engineering, Pattoor is scheduled to be conducted from 19th to 21st of December 2016. A two day basic level training on ANSYS software; a world renowned and widely accepted Finite Element Analysis package was conducted by the college from 8th to 9th of November 2016 in which 51 M.Tech students participated. The proposed advanced level workshop, which is second in the series, is designed as a pioneer one with specific learning outcomes from selected domains in Structural Engineering. The objective of the basic training was to brush up the theoretical concepts of finite element analysis covered in the academic curriculum and to bridge it with practical applications by solving simple structural analysis problems with the help of ANSYS. The sessions were handled by Mr. Rahul Leslie, Assistant Director (Building Division) of DRIQ, (Structural Design Wing, Kerala PWD) and Mr. Shiv Shankar Nair, (FEA / Durability Engineer, Structural Mechanics Division, Dimension Design Analysis Pvt Ltd, Amrita University, Kollam). The advanced program to be conducted from 19th to 21st December is aimed at equipping the B.Tech / M.Tech Civil / Structural engineering students, engineering college teachers and practicing engineers to evaluate / solve structural engineering problems using finite element analysis methods and to efficiently manage industrial / research / student projects. The conceptual stage of the programme involved brain storming with industry experts and feedback from students, teachers and professionals in the Civil / Structural engineering domain regarding the lack of skill and confidence in attempting finite element software based problem solving. Being a first of its kind outcome based program, the course content is designed to ensure guaranteed learning outcomes and to facilitate interaction with industry experts. Interested Students, Faculties and Engineering professionals in Civil / Structural Engineering domain, may go through the attached poster or contact Renjith R, Asst. Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Sree Buddha College of Engineering, Pattoor, www.sbce.ac.in Email: firstname.lastname@example.org, Mob: 9495967788.
