Sree Buddha College of Engineering promotes research in the frontier areas of Science, Technology and Engineering. The institute has already entered into the active research through projects from AYUSH, way back in 2010. Research activities actively taken by faculty members of various departments of the College have been gaining momentum in the recent past. Sponsored research works carried out by our faculty are supported by Central and State government agencies. It has helped the institute in procuring state of the art instruments and equipments for carrying out high quality research for social empowerment. Research projects are mainly aimed at solving rural and industrial problems and are being pursued with great importance.

A research council has been formulated with the Principal of the institution as the Chairman and the Research Coordinator as the convener. Research Council has members from all the departments. The council organizes different programmes to motivate the faculty to enroll for PhD programs in their fields of interest. The council assists and provides guidance to research scholars in obtaining research projects and collects the information of potential funding agencies for financial assistance. The research coordinator coordinates all research activities of the institute and research based product development.

The institution has received about 1.5 Crore as research funding from various Central and State agencies which includes Government of India (AYUSH), Department of Biotechnology- Government of India (BIO-CARe), AICTE (RPS), APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (CERD RSM and Student Project Schemes), KSCSTE (Research Scheme and Student Project Scheme), and ANERT Kerala (Supporting R&D Scheme). In addition, the College Management has also supported research activities by providing enough funding. Similarly, College has organized various Sponsored National and International conferencessince 2018.

Sree Buddha College of Engineering encourages the faculty members to publish their research works in highly qualified journals as per the research policy of the Institute.Faculty members have published more than 70 research and review articles in UGC care list/Scopus/SC indexed journals in last few years. Our faculty members are inventors in 8 granted Patents.

The institute has also signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with many institutes and industries in India and abroad for student internship, training and collaborative research. Currently the Institute has a few research scholars pursuing PhD under the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The institute organizes conferences/workshops/faculty developments programs using state of the art facilities. The College also provides duty leave and travel support for faculty and students to attend conferences. Above all, the College facilitates timely release of funds for carrying out research projects and provides seed money. The activities of research council help to motivate faculty, especially youngsters, to undertake research activities and enhance the quality of their research work.
