IEEE Student Branch
IEEE Student Branches provide an opportunity for student members to begin networking in their areas of interest and future profession. There are over 3,000 IEEE Student Branches in over 100 countries, globally. Amongst those branches, from 2014 onwards, our IEEE Student Branch is very much active. We have now about 120 student volunteers in this chapter.

An IAS Society also associated with IEEE branch here under the department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. The Student Branch with branch code STB12941 has done many programs and workshops to improve the technological skills of students. These events also work as a platform for students to express their ideas and share their knowledge. The SBCE IEEE student branch chapter is coordinated by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Quiz – REPUBLIC DAY
IEEE Student Branch of Sree Buddha College of Engineering, Pattoor, Alappuzha, organized an online Quiz Competition as part of Republic Day celebration, exclusively for students of Sree Buddha College on 26th Jan 2022 at 07:00 pm. The registration started from 24.01.2022 to 26.01.2021 through google form.
The quiz had 20 questions and the time of completion was 3 minutes. The quiz was conducted through an online platform called “TESTMOZ”. 61 participants including IEEE student branch members participated. The winners were announced by our Branch Advisor Mr. Anandu Vijayakumar. The participants and winners were awarded E-certificates.
The first position was secured by Pranav Embran S. The second place was shared by Anshuman B and Aparna V and the third place was shared by Nihala S, Aman V, and Gouri Manoj. The event was a success and it helped the participants to know more about the history of India.
Webinar – SciArt
IEEE Student Branch of Sree Buddha College of Engineering, Pattoor, Alappuzha organized a webinar on the topic SciArt – “Science-Art-Life” as a part of Science week celebration through Google meet, exclusively for students of Sree Buddha College on 27nd Feb 2022 at 07:30pm. The registration started from 25th February through google form and 60 students registered through google form.
The webinar was handled by Dr Manoj Narayanan,(Associate Professor, Department of biotechnology and biochemical engineering).
Webinar – INTRODUCTION TO CYBERSECURITY
IEEE Student Branch of Sree Buddha College of Engineering, Pattoor, Alappuzha organized an online webinar on the topic INTRODUCTION TO CYBERSECURITY through Google Meet. The registration started from 16/11/2022 to 19/11/2022 through Google Form. The program was conducted for all IEEE and non-IEEE members.
The webinar was handled by Mr. Melvin George Thomas (Cybersecurity Analyst, Liventus). The program discussed about security, goals of cybersecurity, security problems and importance of cybersecurity. After the session, a question and answer session was also provided for the students to ask their doubts. Partcipants are also provided with participation certificates. About 60 students participated in the event.

IEEE IAS Chapter
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering operates an IAS (Industry Application Society) Chapter in the college as a subsidiary of IEEE Student Branch Chapter. This chapter is a valuable professional connect between industry and academics and it offers the following benefits to our students:
- An opportunity to become acquainted with the works of various experts in the field.
- A chance to collaborate in projects of various industrial domains.
- Opportunities to publish papers in reputed conferences of international stature.
- Funds for research works of international exposure.
The IAS Students Branch Chapter, Sree Buddha College of Engineering (IAS SBC SBCE) was inaugurated on 18th February 2015 with 17 student members from PG and 9 faculty members. Dr. Tomy Sebastian (President, IEEE Industrial Application Society, Director of Motor Drive Systems, Halla Mechatronics) inaugurated the chapter. Mr. Srikanth Vasudevanpillai (IEEE-IAS Chapter and Membership Development Vice-Chair, Area Chair, Student Branch Chapter, Region 10, Asia West) felicitated the event. Prof. C Asokan, Head of the department, EEE, SBCE presided over the gathering.
The activities of this IAS Chapter were always inspiring. Soon after the inauguration, an industrial visit to Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering Company Ltd (KEL) was organized for its members and a tour to Athirapally waterfalls. Due to the active involvement of the student members of this Chapter, 8 students of M-tech (2014-16 Batch) got an opportunity to attend an international conference in U.S.A. funded by the IAS Society.
The official inauguration of the IAS chapter of the SBCE IEEE SB was held on the the first of July in the year 2015.

DEBATE COMPETITION
IEEE SB SBCE organized a DEBATE COMPETITION on various advancing topics in technology for the students of the college on 27th April 2020 . It was very effective and live.
The Student members of IEEE college chapter and students from various departments participated in the programme.

MASK DISTRIBUTION CAMPAIGN
IEEE Student Chapterof Sree Buddha College of Engineering, Pattoor Alappuzha has organized a Mask Distribution Campaign “MASK UP”.
This is a humble effort by Student Members of IEEE SB SBCE to distributing masks to Govt. Primary Health Centres and for Health Workers.
IEEE SB believe, that along with other prevention measures, masks will help to reduce the spread of this disease and help us to battle this pandemic. Each student has contributed Rs.100 for this program. The first set of 200 mask was given to honourable Municipal Councellor Sri.VijayaBabu by IEEE student branch Treasurer.
ONLINE QUIZ COMPETITION
IEEE Student Branch of Sree Buddha College of Engineering, Pattoor Alappuzha in association with IAS Society organized an intra-college online Technical Quiz Competition, “TECHQUIZ 1.0”, for students of the college on 29th M ay 2020 at 11:00am.
PAPER BAG DISTRIBUTION CAMPAIGN

IEEE Student Branch of Sree Buddha College of Engineering, Pattoor Alappuzha has organised a PAPER BAG DISTRIBUTION CAMPAIGN.
On behalf of World Paper Bag Day Student members of IEEE SB SBCE created around 400 Paper Bags.
These paper bags were donated to their near by shops on 12th July 2020.
