Dr. Jaya Mary Jacob for BioCARE Laboratory funded by DBT, Govt. of India
Dr. Jaya Mary Jacob, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering has received extramural research grant worth Rs. 48.48 Lakhs from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India under the Biotechnology Career Advancement and Re-orientation Programme (Bio-CARe) for women Scientists. Under this scheme research activities on biotechnology interventions for quantum dot synthesis and their application for biosensor development is underway. Presently, team BioCARe in the institution consist of a Junior Research Fellow and 7 undergraduate and 1 post graduate student. BioCARe team has been successful in bringing out significant research findings in quantum dot research and has brought out numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. The project has successfully completed a year and will go a long way to help us pursue quality research and build careers.
Dr. Sreejith Mohan, Associate Professor, received a fund of Rs. 3,00,000/- for his R & D Project titled “ Design and Development of low fume welding electrodes” from the Kerala state Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE).
Vaisakh P S, Assistant Professor, received a fund of Rs 10000/- from Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) for the project entitled “Jack fruit Dressing and Packing Machine” during 2018.
Vaisakh P S, Assistant Professor, received a fund of Rs 11000/- from Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) for the project entitled “Semi-Automatic Jack fruit Dressing Machine” during 2017.
Jackfruit Dressing and Packing Machine
Developed a Jackfruit Dressing Machine which will cut and separate the inner core and outer hard skin and collect the fruit separately
Water Weed Harvester
The mechanism was developed to facilitate the removal of weed from water bodies.
Domestic Coconut Oil Extraction machine
This machine extracts oil from raw coconut for domestic purpose
