Career Guidance and Placement Unit (CGPU) is led by a Coordinator, who is senior Professor, supported by a committee comprising of faculty and final year students representing various departments.
CGPU maintains a steady relationship with potential employers and maintain a close watch of the changing employment scenario. Few of the major employers are invited to conduct seminars and workshops on Career Development every year. Students are also enlightened about the changing market and employability demands through orientation sessions conducted by CGPU.
CGPU utilizes the common facilities of the college to carry out its programmes. Facilities include 4 air-conditioned halls of different capacities, 4 computing facilities with cumulative capacity of 250 computers, Interview and Group Discussion cabins 15 in number.
CGPU provides compulsory training in Personality Development, CV Writing, Communication Skills, Aptitude tests, Interview Technique etc. to all students during their final year. The training programme is framed based on the Training Need Analysis (TNA) conducted in advance. These programmes are carried out with the support of competent external as well as in house experts.
The MOU signed with TCS, helps both our faculty and students to get acquainted with latest technologies in the industry through Workshop for students, Faculty Development Programmes and Internship opportunity for students.
Many of the top companies across the nation visit our campus for recruitment. We also host recruitment drives by Armed Forces of India. It is observed that there is a growing interest among high end companies in hiring our talents and maintain a progressive strong association with us.

TKMCE, Kollam is connected by rail and road to all the metropolises and most major cities of the country. Also, one can fly direct to Thiruvanthapuram (Trivandrum) which is the nearest airport or to Kochi International Aiport.
TKMCE is about 66 kms from the Thiruvanathapuram Airport. One could take either a prepaid taxi from the counter available inside the Airport, or a city taxi (from just outside the airport building). The Institute is known as “TKM College” to the locals, however, the TKM group have several Instituitions and therefore one need to ask for TKM Engineering College at Karikode.
TKMCE is about 170 kms from the Kochi Airport. One could take either a prepaid taxi from the counter available inside the Airport, or a city taxi (from just outside the airport building).
If one plans to take a Train to TKMCE from the Thiruvanathapuram Airport, one will get a taxi to the nearest railway station at Thampanoor, Thiruvanathapuram from where almost all trains going to the North of India passes through Kollam. The Kollam city railway station is about 7 kms from TKMCE campus. One will have to get out of the station from platform number ONE and reach the prepaid taxi or Autorickshaw. One can also take a train to the nearest local train station ‘Killikollur’ from it is 2 Minitues by walk to the campus.
One may also use the option of travelling by bus to Kollam from the Thiruvanathapuram. The Bus station is in Thampanoor itself and is just oppposite to the railway station. One can also get any bus going to the North via the coastal route. From the central Bus station at Kollam, one can catch any bus going to Kundara, Kottarakara, Punalur or Thenkasi.
