ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Established in the year 2020, the Department of Food Technology offers a 4-year B. Tech.,degree program with the state-of-art curriculum designed by integrating the various aspects of food science, technology, engineering, and management to meet the diverse demands of food and allied processing sectors. The department is equipped with advanced infrastructure and
laboratories, and highly qualified faculty. The department is dedicated to provide students with an extensive education in food technology, encompassing both fundamental and advanced topics,and strongly emphasizing practical applications.
A significant aspect of the curriculum is the inclusion of industry visits, which are designed to enhance students' practical knowledge and skills in food technology. These visits expose students to real-world applications, broaden their perspectives, and refine their technical abilities within the context of food technology.Faculty members are actively engaged in high-quality research within the field of food technology, regularly publishing their findings in esteemed peer- reviewed journals. This focus on research excellence ensures that the department remains at the forefront of scientific advancements in food technology.
Graduates from the Department of Food Technology have a wide array of career opportunities in the food industry. They are well-prepared to join multinational corporations (MNCs) in roles  related to Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Research and Development, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management, all within the realm of food technology. Additionally,they are qualified for positions in government organizations such as the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Food Corporation of India (FCI), Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), as well as state government cooperative dairy organizations and food and health departments, focusing on various aspects of food technology. The students are motivated with leadership and entrepreneurship skills along to their technical competency to kick-start their own brand and product of food and allied industries in the global market.
