1. UG IN CIVIL ENGINEERING [B.Tech]

 
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)
 

The graduates will:

PEO1     : Have the attributes to pursue successful employment in Civil Engineering

PEO2     : Be inspired to perceive latest technologies and opportunities relating to Civil Engineering

PEO3     : Be empowered to devise sustainable solutions to real life problems
 
PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)
 

The graduates of the program should be able to:

PO1. Engineering Knowledge:

Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, to the solution of complex problems in Civil Engineering

PO2. Problem Analysis:

Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex Civil Engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.

PO3. Design / Development of Solution: 

Design solutions for complex Civil Engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4. Conduct investigation of complex problems:

Use research based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions, related to Civil Engineering.

PO5. Modern Tool Usage: 

Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction, modeling and analysis to complex Civil Engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6. The Engineering and Society:

Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7. Environmental and Sustainability:

Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate the knowledge of and need for sustainable development.

PO8. Ethics:

Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9. Individual and Team Work:

Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10. Communication: 

Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11. Project Management and Finance:

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO12. Life-long Learning: 

Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Civil Engineering graduates will be able to:

PSO1: Design , develop and maintain sustainable solutions for problems in Civil engineering using state of the art technologies and in conformity with ethical standards..

PSO2: Explore newer trends and employment opportunities in civil engineering through methodical exposure to industry and experts
 
 

2. PG in Structural Engineering [M.Tech]

 

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the Post Graduate degree (M. Tech) in Structural Engineering (SE) program are presented below.

The graduates will:

PEO I. Be competent for the analysis and design of structural systems considering the aspects of safety and sustainability.

PEO II. Be effective innovators and researchers in the field of structural engineering to address societal, economic and engineering challenges.

PEO III.    Imbibe principles of ethics in design with significance of life-long learning and contribution to the society.

 

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)

 The graduates will be able to:

 PO1: Independently carry out research / investigation and development work to solve practical problems

PO2: Write and present a substantial technical report / document

PO3: Demonstrate a degree of mastery over Structural Engineering.

PO4: Arrive at optimal and realistic solutions to the problems in the field of structural engineering considering safety, societal, economical and environmental factors.

PO5: Contribute to the development of scientific knowledge by applying research methodologies in the field of structural engineering

 PO6: Update the technological advances in the structural engineering and engage in life-long learning independently to upgrade knowledge and competence.

Structural Engineering graduates will be able to:

PSO1: Apply research methodologies to critically analyze complex problems in the field of structural engineering and arrive at technically feasible solutions 

PSO2: Design structural systems considering management principles, ethics, economy and safety.
