BUDS

The student association of the Department of Biotechnology &Biochemical Engineering, ‘BUDS’ (Biotechnology Union for the Development of the Society) aims at nurturing the student leadership and overall personality development. As its name suggests, the motto of BUDS has been to encourage and promote activities beneficial to both the students of SBCE and the people of the neighbourhood. Right from the inception, the association has been keen in organizing several state level and national seminars, conferences, workshops and faculty development programmes bringing in eminent personalities from various research organizations and industries all over.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION CLUB
The aim of this club is to promote the awareness of clean technologies by means of a multi-disciplinary approach and to promote energy conservation & waste management. The students are encouraged to design and fabricate clean energy systems and popularize communication among various energy and environmental groups to place the staff and students together in a social setting.

JOURNAL CLUB

The goal of this club is to critically evaluate recent articles in the academic literature. These help the student become more familiar with the advanced literature in their new field of study. In addition, these journal clubs help to improve the students’ skills of understanding and debating current topics of active interest in their field.

INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS INDIA
The Institution of Engineers (India) [IE(I)] is a statutory body to promote and advance the engineering and technology. It is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers encompassing 15 engineering disciplines with a membership of more than 820,000, and serving the nation for more than 9 decades.
